Revolutionary Context to a Transformative Age
For those of us who are global strategy addicts, or just dilettantes, Micheal Ledeen is required reading, particularly for his insights on the Mid-East. His latest article, in National Review Online , deals with over a quarter century of democratic revolutions, including a lengthy respite, which provides the context for what I've been calling a transformative age. When the preconditions are there, an age seems to have the power to transform; but his point is that the leaders, through will, vision, and policies, are the essential catalyst that makes the possiblilities become the realities. Worth reading.
